 SOCIAL POLICY CONNECTIONS AIMS TO
Ø influence public opinion and social policy for the common good, nationally and globally
Ø bring the resources of the Christian social traditions into more active engagement with contemporary issues
Ø help stimulate in Australia a keener consciousness of social justice values
Ø link with younger people in their quest for a better world
Ø develop a richer social philosophy that ensures economics more fully serves human wellbeing
Ø undertake research on critical social issues
Ø open new connections among concerned individuals and groups.
PROGRAM GOALS
 develop SPC as a centre for advocacy
establish the Yarra Institute for Religion and Social Policy within the Melbourne College of Divinity,
in collaboration with Yarra Theological Union.
stage regular public forums on important social issues
develop a media strategy and profile.
