SPC publications

Flickr image 'Typing' by misplacedparadoxAs a relatively new organisation, Social Policy Connections has not yet published many articles or extensive commentary in its own name, apart from our newsletters.

However we give examples of how we see the interactions between religious belief, social values and specific problems in the various articles we have listed. They illustrate the style of engagement and debate we wish to encourage through SPC.

Under the button marked 'Issues of concern', our website lists a range of commentary on key social issues, arranged under these headings: Stewardship of our planet; Fairness in Australia; Global poverty; War and peace; and the Church and social justice. For the time being, we have arranged articles under categories of booklets, journal artlcles and magazine/newspaper articles.

We have used articles by some SPC members, with permission from the various publications, to demonstrate also that our Board members have considerable background in writing about these issues. Because of their ready accessibility for our website, many of the articles used are by Bruce Duncan. As you will see from the other publications among our committee members in SPC or the Yarra Institute for Religion and Social Policy, many other items could also be added as well.

SPC and the Yarra Institute are publishing their own material, and we intend to offer platforms for our members also to join the conversation with our constituents and to publicise their writings. For the moment SPC is like a minnow in the stream, and we ask for your patience and suggestions to achieve the goals we have set.
